Shadow of 3451 colours

Emphasis on colours to enhance the beauty of carpet is being given. Asif Husan of Bhadohi has made arrangements to show 345 types of colours to the buyers in his stall. He told that buyers need new colours along with new designs for carpets.

Colour reference system is the attraction

On the first day of Indian Carpet Expo 06’s carpet fair, fine shades of ARS Colors Company presenting color referencing system was the centerpiece of the expo. In this 1331 cotton color referencing system was the most praised. From the ARS sources, this is the world biggest color reference system. We got to know on January 2007 in Domotex Fair Hannover Germany, a company will present new color reference system which will displaying viscose, art and silk. After this fair, ARS Colors will be the first company who will have 3451 color reference system.

ARS Software Boom

Bhadohi | It has been around for forty years; but this is the first time when ARS Carpet and Textile Colour Lands’ carpet designing has been a hit in many countries. The software is making waves in the expo. Manufacturers are now using the colours of an Indian company in their carpets and software. ARS is also going to bring a new collection of colours in viscose (art designs have become the centre of attraction. Silk) among the products displayed in the fair.

Not much right now, but will definitely get good orders in Domotex Fair.

Asif Hasan, the founder of ARS Colours – During a conversation with the representatives, Irshad said that colours have a different charm… “The artistic combination of colours makes a tremendous difference in the look of carpets. The world of colours is very different.

These shades are numbered based on software technology and every carpet exporter and buyer has a CD and list of these. Just choose the carpet of your choice and get it dyed in the desired colour. Mudassar Hasan of the stall says that he has been involved in carpet export for three generations. When I took over this business from my generation, I thought of doing something new. Hence, I started this colour language. We have 150 boxes of colour system and their demand is high among buyers of UK, Belgium and Spain.

Software in ARS 

ARS Color Reference System being used in more than 39 countries are also know being showed in the carpet and textile. By the way ARS Color is one of the top manufacturer of color reference system, but this is the first time, when someone in the world in the field of carpet and textile designing exporter will put colors in their software. 

In a brief interview with ‘Aaj’, ARS manager Mr. Asif Hasan told that soon ARS is going to bring a new collection of 700 colours in viscose (arts silk).

After the launch of this new colour system ARS will break its own record and will have a collection of 4151 colours, which will be the first in the world. He said that it is our endeavour that the carpet industry should reach its heights and India should be the leader in it.

It's about colours and shades

THEY PLAY a major role in selection of carpets, feel stall owners at India Carpet Expo.

VARANASI: Bridging the gap between the carpet manufacturers and buyers by providing a wide range of colour reference in wool, cotton and viscose, a stall stands alone in the crowd of 201 stalls at the four-day India Carpet Expo organised at the Sampurnanand Sanskrit University. Carpet manufacturers and even buyers use the colour reference poms to express their own colour combination matching according to their taste, colour shades of their rooms and furniture.

Irshad Ahmed of the ARS Colours, while talking to HT on the third day of the fair on Monday, said they had as many as 1,800 wool shades, 1,331 cotton shades and 320 shades of viscose. They had a dyeing unit at Himmatpur Bakuchia in neighbouring Bhadohi district. Here experiments with colours are done and new shades are created, Ahmed added.

“We are going to launch 700 new shades of colours at car- pet fair DOMOTEX to be held in Germany in January,” he said. He said they were exporting colour reference boxes to over 39 countries worldwide but the major exporters were Europe and Middle East. However, the economic down-turn had not only affected the demand for carpets but also the colour reference systems. He claimed that his company stood on top as far as number of shades and colour tones were concerned.

“Sometimes, buyers selects a carpet but want to make changes in colours according to their taste. In such situations, colour reference poms help them select the colour of their choice”, he said.

Deepak Maheshwari, A carpet manufacturer, of Maheshwari Carpets (Varanasi) said, “We have colour reference wool poms that not only help us in selecting colours for designing a carpet but also help our buyers in selecting their colour and combinations.”

Peeyush Kothari, a major exporter, said in present scenario colours undoubtedly played a significant role and the product with rich looks and colours had a high demand. The carpet designing and making today mainly depend on these colour referral systems, he added.

Foreign buyers praise CEPC

Many foreign buyers attending the India Carpet Expo (ICE) praising the Carpet Export Promotion Council (CEPC) for organising an attractive expo having a variety of products of carpets accepted that the young generation of European and United States are attracting towards attractive fashion and latest designs instead of old-date carpets.

Germans Volkar Henrich and Peter Flagner without hesitating said that the future of hand-knotted carpets hangs in balance.

It may be mentioned that hand-knotted carpet exports India is at the top in the world. They said that the young generation is being attracted towards fashion and this trend is visible in the European countries for the last couple of years. They accepted that the hand-knot- ted carpets are costly and durable but the interests of young generation towards the same has declined and it is reality. They said that instead of hand-knotted carpets, young generation is liking cheap tufted, gabbeh and saggey carpets so that they can replace the same after a few years easily.

Dutch buyer John Peterson also accepted that fashion has changed the interests of foreign buyers but the trend would be changed again in the next 5-10 years. He is confident that the people would restart taking interests in hand-knotted carpets because they are the best. He said that in most of the Scandinavian countries this changing trend is visible.

Adding colours
The stall of ARS Colors at India Carpet Expo is adding more and more colours to the expo and it is one of the company presenting a wide range of over 3000 colour combinations and shades to both the manufactures and buyers. The proprietor Asif Hasan said that the company helps the buyers to select the colour combinations and shades and then ask their supplier for the carpet pieces of that colour
ranges.
